John the Baptizer is a reminder that effective leadership requires commitment, sacrifice, truth-filled messaging, and humble selflessness: “John came preaching, ‘Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near’ . . . John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan, confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River . . . ‘He must become greater and I must become less” (Matthew 3; John 3).
Would-be-leaders, develop those traits. Supporters, follow this kind of leaders. Commitment, sacrifice, truth-filled messaging, and humble selflessness.
